Galleries
- Arkansas — This gallery contains some of my favorite photos from my home state, including some pics of our county’s beautiful Petit Jean State Park.
- Canada — This collection was shot during a 2008 trip with my husband to the Great Lakes region.
- Connecticut — I’ve visited this state three times, but haven’t taken many pictures during those trips. I did snap a nice shot of Mark Twain’s home (my favorite author) during my last visit.
- Idaho — In 2007, Hubby and I retraced a portion of the Oregon Trail, which included a few sites in Idaho.
- Iowa — I traveled through Iowa in 2008 with some friends en route to a conference in Minneapolis, and we ventured off the beaten path to peek at the famed “Bridges of Madison County.”
- Maine — The 2009 mother-daughter trip up the east coast included a drive through Maine.
- Massachusetts — My daughter and I also visited several Massachusetts sites during that 2009 trip and took a PhotoWalks tour of Boston’s historic Beacon Hill district.
- Mexico – Many of these pictures were taken during a 2003 family cruise to Cozumel, but one was taken while waiting to cross the border in July 2005, while Hurricane Emily loomed overhead.
- Michigan — Pictures from the 2008 Great Lakes trip with Hubby. I fell in love with many sites in this beautiful state.
- Minnesota — Most of these were taken during our 2008 visit to the Great Lakes, but some were taken when I returned to Minnesota later that year for a conference in Minneapolis.
- Missouri — This collection was taken during an early Autumn weekend trip with Hubby to view the mills and springs of the Missouri Ozarks.
- Montana — Our 2007 trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons included a day trip to the beautiful mountains of southern Montana’s Gallatin National Forest. These pictures were taken while I was riding a horse.
- New Hampshire — The 2009 mother-daughter trip included a drive along Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountains.
- New Mexico — As many times as I’ve visited (and even lived in) this beautiful desert state, my only photo shoot took place in April 2010, when I ventured into the Nacimiento Mountains with some friends. The trip yielded some great memories, too, as we wound up stuck in the snow on one of the many mountain roads we drove up.
- New York — Any “up the east coast” trip should include a stop in New York City.
- North Carolina — One of my favorite states to visit, this collection was taken during a visit there with my daughter. Hubby and I have a trip planned to visit western North Carolina in May 2010, so look for additions to this gallery soon.
- North Dakota — I visited North Dakota “just because,” while traveling to Minneapolis in 2008. It wasn’t on the way, but I had never been there. My friends and I met some great people, especially in the vicinity of Ransom, a pleasant community located along the Sheyenne River Valley scenic byway.
- Pennsylvania — During the great mother-daughter adventure of 2009, we drove through Philadelphia on the way up the coast and returned through the middle of the state.
- South Dakota — I’ve made two trips to South Dakota, and the Black Hills are on my “places to revisit soon” list. The shots taken in the eastern part of the trip were en route to North Dakota in 2009.
- Tennessee — One would think I’d have more pictures of a state I visit on a regular basis. I do plan to add to this gallery when Hubby and I visit the Smoky Mountains in May 2010.
- Texas – Texas is another state I should have more photos of because I’ve been there countless times. Perhaps this gallery will grow soon.
- Utah — Another state I’ve been through many, many times, but only recently did I take photos. The pictures taken in Arches National Park were shot in 2007 on a trip with Hubby.
- Vermont — On any long trip, inevitably at least one location will suffer due to time constraints, and, in this case, weather. Unfortunately we only had time for a short off-the-freeway stop in Vermont, and after snapping only a few shots, the rain came. Perhaps I can make another trip to New England and enjoy the quaint towns that this state is known for.
- Virginia — Daughter and I voted Mount Vernon as our favorite stop along the 2009 trip up the east coast. We also enjoyed the sites from Skyline Drive on our return trip.
- Washington D.C. — I’ve enjoyed three trips to our nation’s capitol. These pictures were taken in 2009.
- West Virginia — The 2009 trip with daughter included a stop at historic Harpers Ferry.
- Wyoming — The 2007 vacation with Hubby included stops at some historic sites in Wyoming as well as several days enjoying the awe-inspiring Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.
